St. Patrick's Day Fun For Kids!!!

As my kids get older they learn more and more about each holiday and when it is.  My two older girls even requested their own calendars this year for their bedroom to keep track of birthdays and holidays.  St. Patrick's Day is tomorrow and they are excited about it.  Before kids it was just another holiday to drink to, now it is a day to make fun for the kids.  Here are my plans for tomorrow for a fun filled FRUGAL St. Patrick's Day!

Breakfast

Green Pancakes!!!
These are so easy and cheap to make and the kids will LOVE them.  Just add green gel food coloring to your favorite pancake recipe!!!

Pot O' Gold Eggs!!!
Scrambled eggs served in a gold bowl or a black "gold pot"!!!

Green Milk!!!
Pour milk into glass and add 1 drop of green food coloring at a time to achieve desired green color.

Lunch

Green Macaroni & Cheese!!
To make things quick, easy and cheap I will be adding green food coloring to Kraft Mac N Cheese.

Rainbow on a Stick!!!
Use wooden scewers and add strawberries, oranges, pineapple, kiwi & grapes.

Green Grape Iceberg!!!
(Serves 1)
Blend 8 frozen grapes, 4 ounces white grape juice & 2 drops green food coloring for 15 seconds. Pour mixture into glass, add sparkling water to taste and stir.  Add 2 frozen grapes as garnish.

Dinner

Corned Beef & Cabbage!!!
I will be using this Corned Beef & Cabbage recipe as it has great reviews and I love cooking in the crock pot!!!

O'Casey Punch
Click here for this yummy drink idea for kids!!

Dessert

After a long day of cooking I plan on keeping it simple for dessert.  I will be baking Lucky Charms cupcakes.  This super easy recipe uses white cake mix with green gel food coloring, ready to spread frosting and topped with lucky charms.  How much easier could it get???

And of course we will all wear green!!!!

  1. My nieces came to spend the night last night, and we wanted a simple, cheap, fun way to acknowledge the holiday. I loved your idea of green pancakes, so we had breakfast dinner and made leprechaun waffles. They were a big hit! Thanks for the inspiration :-)
