Saving money with coupons

So where do you get coupons???

The thriftiest way to get coupons would be to subscribe to your local newspaper.  Both the Idaho Statesman and  The Idaho Press-Tribune have subscription deals for couponers.  These will get you the daily newspaper plus the Sunday paper and 4 additional Sunday papers.  Both of these news papers have teamed up with some of the larger couponing blogs to get you great deals but you typically have to pay for several months up front.   I don't currently subscribe to the paper since I have family who do not use coupons.  I buy two Sunday papers each week and get two Sunday papers from family.  I would highly recommend subscribing to the local paper though!!! :)
For more info you can contact The Idaho Statesman at 377-6397 or the Idaho Press-Tribune at 870-2784.

Another thrifty way to get coupons is online.  There are several web sites that you can print coupons for free.  these include:
http://www.coupons.com/
http://www.redplum.com/
http://smartsource.com/
http://www.couponnetwork.com/

Another way to get coupons is to load online coupons to your store loyalty cards.  These are cards such as Fred Meyer, Rite-Aid, Albertsons, etc.

The only problem I have run into loading coupons onto my card is if you have a loaded coupon for a product and a paper coupon for the same product, the computer automatically takes off the loaded coupon even if your printed coupon is worth more.  So if you buy 8 Totinos pizzas and have a loaded coupon on your Fred Meyer card for $1 off of 5 pizzas and a paper coupon for $1 off of 4 pizzas (you could use 2 paper coupons to take $2 off) the computer will automatically use the $1 off of 5.  Leaving you with a savings of only $1 instead of $2.  $1 may not seem like much but it ads up over time!!!
